- I have been a published writer for many years, writing women's fiction, feature articles (specialising in childcare and pre-school issues) and children's poetry (as Rosie Kent). I was the judge for the creative writing category of the London Student Awards 2006 and a first round judge for the BBC Radio 2 children's 500-word story competition 2012. I am treasurer of Middlesex-based writers' group Phrase Writers. During 2008 readers of my Writers' Forum column 'Barbados or Bust' followed my attempts to make enough money from my writing for a luxury holiday. Mission accomplished - with cash to spare! In 2009 I wrote about trying for a publishing deal in another regular WF column but sadly did not get that lucky break. The novel is now self-published and available as a kindle ebook. I work part-time as a library outreach worker in a children's centre, bringing the magic of books into young children's lives. My twin daughters are now grown-up, but I still have an adorable cat to satisfy my maternal instincts. I have recently had an ebook published about how to solve cryptic crosswords - a daily passion and semi-obsession of mine!
